Chief of Staff
About the role
You'll work directly with our CEO and COO on whatever matters most that week: closing a round, launching a pilot, hiring the team, getting a robot onto a trade show floor. You'll own projects end to end, and you'll see how a hardtech company gets built from closer up than almost anyone does this early in their career.
What you'll do
- Own projects end to end across fundraising, hiring, partnerships and operations
- Prepare investor updates, board materials and the data room, and keep our metrics and model current
- Run the hiring pipeline: sourcing, scheduling and candidate experience
- Coordinate pilot logistics with customers, including scheduling, site access, safety paperwork and travel
- Plan and run trade shows and events, from booth to demos to follow-up
- Research markets, customers and competitors, and turn what you find into short, clear memos
- Keep priorities, follow-ups and the founders' calendars on track
- Jump in wherever needed, including the shop floor, shipping and demos
What we're looking for
- Experience in a high-ownership role (startup, consulting, banking, operations), or an exceptional student or recent graduate
- Exceptionally organized. You close loops without being chased.
- Clear, concise writing
- Comfortable with spreadsheets and numbers
- Sound judgment with confidential information
- Low ego. Nothing is beneath the job.
Pluses
- Experience in the trades (electrical, construction, utilities, mechanical)
- Hands-on ability. You've built, fixed or made real things.
- Background in hardware, robotics or energy
About Mundane
Mundane builds force-feedback teleoperation for dangerous, hands-on work. A skilled tradesperson wears our exoskeleton and works through a robot on site, seeing in stereo and feeling the forces it meets, from outside the hazard. We're starting with energized electrical work and expanding across the trades. Every job also produces the force-rich data that robot learning is missing. We're a small, venture-backed team in Palo Alto.
